Peter Veal has over 25 years experience in manufacturing management. His last corporate role was CEO of an engineering company. This followed 8 years of change management in that business which included technology transfer & development, positioning for new markets, IT development, ISO accreditation, customer service and cultural change.

In his corporate life he has always worked in manufacturing including heavy engineering and automotive component supply companies. Customers included Toyota, ABB, Castle Bacon, Weir Engineering, Volvo Truck & Skilled Engineering. Peter is an experienced professional engineer and offers practical & proven solutions to operations and line management.

Since starting his own consulting business (in 2001) that specialises in manufacturing and in particular operations management, his clients have included The Reserve Bank of Australia (Note Printing Australia), FMP (formerly Bendix Mintex), AME Systems (Victorian manufacturer hall of fame member), Volgren, Air Radiators, Viscount Plastics, Wilson Transformers, Fasco, MTM, Gekko Systems and Amcor.

Peter is a facilitator with the High Performance Consortium in Victoria (a group of manufacturing companies set up to develop and apply best practice). He is a member of the Association for Manufacturing Excellence, an active member of the Australian Industry Group regional executive, and Chartered Professional Engineer with the Institution of Engineers Australia. Peter is also a member of the Mindshop Facilitator network.

As a professional engineer (Mechanical Engineering) Peter can address a number of technical areas in companies, but tends to focus on manufacturing management. Contact is usually made at the CEO / GM level, but Peter delivers best with ongoing support for operations.

"Lean" has become an important part of Peter's activity. Lean focuses on waste reduction, flow creation and value enhancement and is applied effectively in manufacturing as well as service industries. After extensive reading & study, attending workshops and conferences (including 3 conferences and 2 best practice tours in North America), Peter works to deliver the changes that Lean promises.
